Virginia Cooperative Extension Provides Affordable Water Testing and Interpretation for Wells and Springs of Households in New Kent County, Charles City County, and the surrounding areas
Do you have a well or spring? Do you wonder if your water is safe to drink?
The Virginia Household Water Quality Program offers affordable water testing and education to improve the water quality and health of Virginians who rely on wells and springs. Our water testing includes bacteria, lead, arsenic, and 11 other contaminants that may cause health problems or make your water taste or smell bad.
How does it work?
- Pick up your sample kit and instructions at the New Kent VCE Office. Kit pick up will occur on Monday, June 3, 2024, 2:30pm - 4:30pm.
- Collect samples on designated date and drop off at the New Kent VCE Office. Sample drop off will occur on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, 8:00am - 10:00am.
- Samples are analyzed at Virginia Tech. Results will be mailed or emailed after July 17, 2024. We are available to answer questions and ensure you understand your results.
