Do you have a well, spring, or cistern? What’s in your water?
Learn about your water quality through affordable, confidential testing and become empowered to make decisions about system maintenance and water treatment! The goal of the Virginia Household Water Quality Program is to improve the water quality and health of Virginians with private water supplies, including wells, springs and cisterns.
How does it work?
- Attend the Kick-off Meeting to pick up your sample kit and receive directions to collect samples. The Kick-off Meeting will occur on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, 6:00pm - 7:00pm at the Pearisburg Community Center (KJ Building), 1410 Wenonah Avenue, Pearisburg, VA 24134.
- Collect samples on designated date and drop off at the Giles County Extension Office. Sample drop off will occur on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, 8:00am – 10:00am at 507 Wenonah Avenue, Pearisburg, VA 24134.
- Samples are analyzed at Virginia Tech. Results will take up to 5 weeks, and will be mailed or emailed.

Cost*: $70 per sample kit.

*Scholarships for $60 are available for residents in Giles County through funding from the Virginia Environmental Endowment's Community Conservation Program. Please contact the Giles County VCE Office at 540-921-3455, for more information about these scholarships.

Your registration is not complete until payment has been received and processed.
