Learn about your water quality through affordable, confidential testing and become empowered to make decisions about system maintenance and water treatment! The goal of the Virginia Household Water Quality Program is to improve the water quality and health of Virginians with private water supplies, including wells, springs and cisterns.
How does it work?
- Pick up your sample kit and instructions at the Kickoff Meeting. The Kickoff Meeting will occur on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. Locations/dates/times are listed below.
- Collect samples on designated date and drop off at your desired location. Sample drop off will occur on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. Locations/dates/times are listed below.
- Samples are analyzed at Virginia Tech. Results will be emailed or mailed 4-5 weeks after collection. There will also be a Results Interpretation Meeting on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Locations/dates/times are listed below. A virtual option will also be available.

If you wish to pay with a check, please bring check payments to the King William Extension Office, 180 Horse Landing Road, King William, VA 23086. Office hours are 8:30am - 4:30pm. Checks can also be mailed to the same address, but you must call us before mailing your check, so that we know to expect your payment (804-769-4955). Make all checks payable to King William - VCE. Please note: there is a $50 returned check fee. Your registration is not complete until payment has been received and processed.
