Description

Virginia Cooperative Extension is providing this water quality clinic for residents in and around: Amherst County, Appomattox County, Bedford County, Campbell County, and the City of Lynchburg.

Do you have a well, spring, or cistern?

What’s in your water?

Learn about your water quality through affordable, confidential testing and become empowered to make decisions about system maintenance and water treatment!  The goal of the Virginia Household Water Quality Program is to improve the water quality and health of Virginians with private water supplies, including wells, springs and cisterns.

How it works:

  1. Pick up a sample kit from your local Extension office between August 31 and September 4, with physical distancing measures, and get instructions to collect your household water sample.  If other accommodations are needed, contact your Extension Office.
  2. Drop off sample at a designated location and time on September 9 (physical distancing measures will be in place and masks are required).
  3. Samples are analyzed at Virginia Tech.  Receive your confidential results, and information about addressing any problems via mail or email.  A live video or recorded video presentation will be available to help you understand your results.
