Do you have a well or spring? What’s in your water?

The Virginia Household Water Quality Program aims to improve the water quality and health of Virginians with wells, springs and cisterns. We provide affordable water testing, help interpreting their water test results, and information about addressing problems.

How does it work?

Please Note: Refunds or Transfers to future programs will not be provided if you fail to either pick up your testing kit or drop off your sample during the below window of time.

Pick up your sample kit at the Loudoun Extension office located at 750 Miller Drive SE, Suite 131, Leesburg, VA 20175. Kit pickup will occur on Monday, 11/18/24, 8:30am - 5:00pm
Collect samples and drop off at the Loudoun Extension office located at 750 Miller Drive SE, Suite 131, Leesburg, VA 20175. Drop off will occur on Wednesday, 11/20/24, 7:00am – 10:00am ONLY
Samples are analyzed at Virginia Tech. Receive your confidential results, an explanation of what they mean, and information about addressing any problems via email about 6 weeks after the sample drop off.

Testing includes:

Iron	Manganese	Coliform bacteria	Arsenic	Sulfate
Sodium	Copper	E. coli bacteria	Lead	Nitrate
Fluoride	Hardness	Total Dissolved Solids	pH

Cost: $70/sample kit

(comparable analysis at a private commercial lab would cost more than $300)

Please pre-register by November 15, 2024, as space is limited.

This system is designed to process credit card payment only. If you would like to pay by check, please mail your check along with your full name, email address, phone number and mailing address to: 750 Miller Dr. SE, Suite 131, Leesburg VA 20175. Please make checks payable to 'Treasurer, Virginia Tech'. Please note there is a $50 returned check fee. Alternatively, please come to our office at the above address M-F 8:30am-5:00pm. Please note that registration may sell out before we receive your check.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: November 15, 2024

REFUND POLICY: No refunds will be given after 11/20/24. Any refunds issued will incur a $5 processing fee.
