What’s in your water?
The Virginia Household Water Quality Program aims to improve the water quality and health of Virginians with wells, springs and cisterns. We provide affordable water testing, help interpreting their water test results, and information about addressing problems.
How does it work?
- Pick up your sample kit at the Accomack County Extension Office, 23185 Front St, Accomac. Pick up will occur Monday, 8/18/2025, 8:30am - 4:30pm.
- Collect samples and drop off at the Accomack County Extension Office, 23185 Front St, Accomac. Drop off will occur on Tuesday, 8/19/2025, 8:30am - 4:30pm.
- Samples are analyzed at Virginia Tech. Receive your confidential results, an explanation of what they mean, and information about addressing any problems via email about 5 weeks after the sample drop off.

Cost: $10/sample kit - SERCAP Grant Program
(comparable analysis at a private commercial lab would cost more than $300)
