Do you have a well or spring? What’s in your water?
Learn about your water quality through affordable, confidential testing and become empowered to make decisions about system maintenance and water treatment! The goal of the Virginia Household Water Quality Program is to improve the water quality and health of Virginians with private water supplies, including wells, springs and cisterns.
How does it work?
- Pick up your sample kit at the Craig County VCE Office. Kit pickup will occur on Monday, September 23, 2024 & Tuesday, September 24, 2024, 1:00pm - 6:00pm.
- Collect samples on designated date and drop off at the Craig County VCE Office. Sample drop off will occur on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, 8:00am – 10:00am.
- Samples are analyzed at Virginia Tech. Results will be emailed or mailed about 5 weeks after collection. Any questions about your results can be directed to Jonathan Stanley at 540-864-5812.

This system is designed to process credit card payments only. Registration and pre-payment are required to ensure there is a kit available for you. To pay by check, participants can drop off or mail their payment directly to the Craig County VCE office at 24838 Craigs Creek Road, New Castle, Virginia 24127. Checks should be made payable to VCE Craig County. Please note there is a $50 returned check fee. Your registration is not complete until payment has been received and processed.
