Description
As we wrap up the 2023 growing season and one of the more difficult seasons ever, fruit growing remains a challenging industry. Area fruit growers often look to the Winchester area tree fruit Virginia Cooperative Extension programs to provide real life solutions. Tree fruit research and Extension has been occurring in Winchester for more than 100 years, and industry support has been vital for the continuance of Extension educational events. I am asking for your valued support of the 2024 meetings and activities.
The first event on our agenda is the Winchester Area Fruit School program. This is currently being planned for the week of February 12. More details regarding this initial event will follow at a later date. We will recognize all sponsors at each event in the distribution correspondence as well as on the welcoming kiosk slide and in the event serving lines. The hope for 2024, is to have three early season meetings and two in-orchard summer twilight meetings.
I encourage all of our sponsors to attend these meetings and events to network with the growers. Your sponsorship will help cover the costs (speaker fees, travel, room fees, handouts, set-up expenses, snacks or meals, incidentals, etc.) involved in these meetings. Growers have recognized these educational and networking opportunities as vital components to the success of their operation. I truly appreciate your generosity and faithful support of our work.
We can accept sponsorships with credit card payments through this website. If you prefer to send a check, please make your check payable to: "Treasurer, Virginia Tech", and mail it to Virginia Cooperative Extension - Frederick County, 107 N. Kent St., Winchester, VA 22601.
