This Food Preservation Series will teach you the essentials of water bath canning, dehydrating, pressure canning, and freezing -perfect for preserving the season's bounty! Learn how to safely can at home, gain hands-on experience, and leave with the knowledge and confidence to start preserving your own food!

  • Food safety and jar sterilization

  • Hands-on canning experience

  • How to store and enjoy your foods

 

Who Should Attend?

  • Beginner to Intermediate canners

  • Home cooks Interested In preserving seasonal produce

  • Anyone looking for sustainable, homemade pantry staples

 

Class Details:

You may register for one or both class sessions.

Option to add So Easy to Preserve class book at checkout. If you register for both classes you only need to add the book option once. 

Class 1: Water Bath Canning and Dehydrating
Date: August 13th 2026, 1:00 PM  to 4:00 PM
Location: Healthy Harvest Fresh at 55 Commerce Parkway, Warsaw, VA 22572  (Enter the building on the right)
Price: $25 (optional class book add-on $35)
Ages: All ages welcome. Those under 18 must attend with adult and both be registered.

 

Class 2: Pressure Canning and Freezing
Date: August 20th 2026, 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Location: Healthy Harvest Fresh at 55 Commerce Parkway, Warsaw VA 22572  (Enter the building on the right)
Price: $25 (optional class book add-on $35)
Ages: All ages welcome. Those under 18 must attend with adult and both be registered.

 

**This is a long class so feel free to bring snacks and a drink. There will be a water filling station available to refill water bottles.**

 

 

Refund Policy: 

To receive a refund, a request must be sent in writing to Jasmine Greer, jasmine22@vt.edu by August 6, 2026. A $5 processing fee will apply. Refunds will not be processed after August 6th. Refunds take up to 6 weeks to receive.
