Henrico 4-H Summer Day Camp- "Sprout & Grow: Cultivating Curiosity"
For rising 4th–8th grade youth: Get ready for four days of digging in, exploring nature, and discovering how farms, plants, soil, and wildlife all connect!
Youth will:
🌻 Plant seeds, transplant seedlings, and learn how to water and care for a garden
🌱 Make soil blocks, explore soil textures, and dig into compost discoveries
🌾 Identify seedlings and harvest from a hydroponics tower
🦌 Learn about local wildlife through observations and model pelts, skulls, tracks, and poop!
💧 Test water quality and explore the science behind healthy ecosystems
Youth can be dropped at up to 15 minutes early (7:45 AM) and be picked up promptly at 12 PM. Snacks will be provided. Youth will be working outside on an active farm; closed-toed shoes are required.
Dates: July 13th - July 16th, 2026
Time: 8 AM to Noon
Location: Fairfield Middle School: 5121 Nine mile Road, Richmond VA 23223
Cost: $40 per camper

4-H Online Enrollment
After submitting payment, you’ll receive an email with instructions for enrolling in 4-H Online within 3 business days. Enrollment in 4-H Online is required for your youth to participate. Families will be sent specific details with how to register in 4-H Online.
Refund Policy:
To receive a refund, a request must be sent in writing to Carter Humphries, ccd296@vt.edu by June 12, 2026. A $10 processing fee will apply. Refunds will not be processed after June 12. Refunds take up to 6 weeks to receive.
