Henrico 4-H Holiday Workshops: Make It Merry & Make It Bright

Make It Merry:
Celebrate the holiday season with creativity and cheer! In this festive hands-on workshop, youth will design and craft their own holiday ornament using polymer clay, then choose to make an additional item, such as earrings or a keychain, to personalize or gift. Along the way, participants will explore the science behind polymer clay and discover how heat and chemistry transform their designs into finished works of art. It’s a perfect blend of holiday spirit, science, and self-expression, so come ready to make it merry! A light snack will be provided.
*Minimum number of registrants must be met in order to host the workshop.
Make It Bright:
Light up your creativity this holiday season! In this STEM-themed workshop, youth will explore the science of light and energy through hands-on projects. Participants will build their own light-up mini snow globes, learning how circuits and LED lights work. For a dazzling twist on winter skies, they will also explore the science behind the Northern Lights and create their own colorful “auroras.” This workshop is a festive way to spark curiosity, shine bright with science, and celebrate the season with hands-on fun. A light snack will be provided.
