Hands on STEM fun with FLSI
For the 2025/2026 Montgomery County Public School calendar we are offering select care for children ages 9-12 for various teacher work days, voting and break days including- Oct. 16, Oct. 17, Nov. 4 (FULL), Feb. 16, Jan 5, Jan 6, March 20, April 1, April 2, and April 6 from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm each day.
Drop off will be at a building on the Blacksburg, VA Virginia Tech campus. Parents are responsible for providing all snacks and lunch for your child. Please send your child with a water bottle. Kids will have access to a variety of STEM activities including jewelry making, exploring Ty's bug collection, snap circuits, building take home robots, jewelry making, DNA Extraction from strawberries, paper making, candle making and many others.
We are also planning on taking some walking field trips on campus to visit various STEM centric spaces such as visiting the Geosciences Museum, Hahn Hort Garden, Vet Med Tour, or Prototyping space in the library.
When you register your child you are welcome to register them for any number of dates each however activities offered will be the same but children can build/create and experiment with different activities and can revisit ones they really enjoy.
