Do you have a well or spring?  What’s in your water?

The Virginia Household Water Quality Program aims to improve the water quality and health of Virginians with wells, springs and cisterns. We provide affordable water testing, help interpreting their water test results, and information about addressing problems.

How does it work?

Please Note: Refunds or Transfers to future programs will not be provided if you fail to either pick up your testing kit or drop off your sample during the below window of time.
  1. Pick up your sample kit at the Dinwiddie Extension office located at 13915A Boydton Plank Road, Dinwiddie, Virginia 23841.  Kit pickup will occur on Tuesday, 11/5/24, 7:30am - 4:00pm.
  2. Collect samples and drop off Wednesday, 11/6/24 at the Dinwiddie Extension office located at 13915A Boydton Plank Road, Dinwiddie, Virginia 23841 7:30am – 10:00am
  3. Samples are analyzed at Virginia Tech. Receive your confidential results, an explanation of what they mean, and information about addressing any problems via email about 6 weeks after the sample drop off.
