This online course was developed by Virginia Tech faculty and Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation staff. In this course, we walk through the core components involved in writing nutrient management plans for turf and landscape. We will cover the Standards and Criteria, Nutrient Management Regulations and Certification credentials, and plan components and requirements. The course highlights information from the Urban Nutrient Handbook and the Virginia Nutrient Management Standards and Criteria 2014. The course is intended to help individuals in preparing for the Virginia Nutrient Management Certification exam in Turf and Landscape. I. Nutrient Management Regulations and Certification
II. Plan Overview and Requirements
III. Overview of the Standards and Criteria
IV. Nutrient Management Plan Writing Components
V. Guided Practice: Soil Test Summary and Basic Fertilizer Calculations
VI. Case Study: Guided and Independent practice
This course is presented by VCE and VA DCR. In taking this course, it is understood that the results of the completion of this course and registration information will be shared with the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation’s Nutrient Management Program staff.
