This course will provide training to approved Master Gardener Volunteers in the Virginia counties of Culpeper, Greene, Madison, Orange, Albemarle/City of Charlottesville, and Fluvanna.
Volunteers are needed to help with school programs, help desks, demonstration gardens, and horticulture therapy. This is a great way to share your love of plants, the environment, and gardening with others in our community. This 15-week training will give you the background information to be a successful volunteer. The course is taught by extension agents and professionals in the horticulture industry. All lectures will be held online through zoom presentations. There will be four in person Saturday workshops.
Lectures include: Botany, Intro to VCE volunteering, Risk Management, Indoor Plants, Pesticide Safety and IPM, Water Quality, Vegetables, Herbaceous Plants and Landscape Design, Propagation, Lawn & Turf, Home Fruits & Berries, Soil & Nutrient Management, Plant Disease & Integrated Pest Managment, Weed Invasives, Entomology
Saturday Workshops: Pruning, Propogation, Woody Plants, and Graduation

Once you receive notice that your application to become a Master Gardener Volunteer has been approved, you can register in one of two ways:
