Do you have a well or spring? What’s in your water?
The Virginia Household Water Quality Program aims to improve the water quality and health of Virginians with wells, springs and cisterns. We provide affordable water testing, help interpreting their water test results, and information about addressing problems.
How does it work?
- Pick up your sample kit at the Lee Extension office located at 486 Industrial Drive Pennington Gap, Virginia 24277. Kit pickup will occur on Tuesday, 11/5/24, 6:00pm or during regular business hours Tuesday 11/5 - Monday 11/11.
- Collect samples and drop off Wednesday, 11/13/24 at the Lee Extension office located at 486 Industrial Drive Pennington Gap, Virginia 24277 7:30am – 9:00am

Super Dollar in Rose Hill 7:30am - 8:30am - Samples are analyzed at Virginia Tech. Receive your confidential results, an explanation of what they mean, and information about addressing any problems via email about 6 weeks after the sample drop off.

Please make checks payable to 'VCE-Lee Co'. Please note there is a $50 returned check fee. Alternatively, please come to our office at the above address M-F 8:30am-5:00pm. Please note that registration may sell out before we receive your check.
