This program has been rescheduled for August 2020.  Please see details below.  If you previously registered for this program, and have not cancelled, you are still registered.

Do you have a well, spring or cistern? Do you want to learn more about the quality of your water?

Learn about your water quality through affordable, confidential testing and become empowered to make decisions about system maintenance and water treatment!  The goal of the Virginia Household Water Quality Program is to improve the water quality and health of Virginians with private water supplies, including wells, springs and cisterns.

How does it work?

  1. Pick up your sample kit at the local Extension office with physical distancing measures or request to receive it by mail. We will be offering a drive-through pick up at the Brambleton Center between 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm on Monday, 8/17/2020.
  2. Collect samples on Wednesday, 8/19/2020 and drop off locally at the Brambleton Center (drive through drop off) between 7:30 am and 9:00 am.
  3. Samples are analyzed at Virginia Tech.  You will receive your confidential results via email in late September.  The results will include an explanation of what the results mean, and information about addressing any problems.  A recorded video presentation will be available to help you understand your results.

The VCE Office (Brambleton Center) is located at 3738 Brambleton Avenue, Roanoke 24018
