Fruit growing remains a challenging industry, and area fruit growers often look to the Winchester area tree fruit Extension programs to provide real life solutions. Tree fruit research and Extension has been occurring in Winchester for more than 100 years, and industry support has been vital for the continuance of Extension events. We are asking for your valued support of the 2020 meetings and activities.
The Virginia Cooperative Extension-Frederick County Office is in the process of planning programs and activities for 2020. In past years, these included the Winchester Area Fruit School (full-day program), five early season meetings (three evening in-depth meetings and two update breakfast meetings), and two in-orchard summer twilight meetings. Growers have recognized these educational opportunities as vital components to the success of their operation.
Industry support is a key factor in providing these programs for area producers. Sponsorships help cover the costs involved with these meetings (speaker fees, meals, travel, room fees, handouts, set-up expenses, snacks or meals, incidentals, etc.). We hope that you will consider being a sponsor for the 2020 growing season.
The first event for 2020 will be the Winchester Area Fruit School (full-day program) which will be held at Fox Meadow Barn on February 14. More details will follow at a later date, but please be aware that we will be waiving the $50 vendor fee for sponsors contributing $250 or more to the 2020 tree fruit programs. We also recognize all sponsors in correspondence to producers and at each event on the welcoming kiosk slide and in the event serving lines. Sponsors are encouraged to attend meetings and events to network with the growers.
If you would prefer to send a check as your sponsorship, please print this 2020 Sponsorship Form to send with your check payable to Treasurer, Virginia Tech. Mail the form and check to: Virginia Cooperative Extension-Frederick County, 107 North Kent Street, Winchester, VA 22601.
