Welcome to the registration page for Spotted Lanternfly Training. This course is presented by Virginia Cooperative Extension and the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. After successfully completing the course, you can submit your training credential and a completed Spotted Lanternfly Permit Application to spottedlanternfly@vdacs.virginia.gov to receive your permit.

 

The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Sciences (VDACS) has established a quarantine for Frederick County and the city of Winchester. A Spotted Lanternfly Permit, issued by VDACS, is now required to move regulated materials out of the quarantine area. Other states with quarantines for spotted lanternfly may also request this permit for materials and goods brought from the quarantine area in Virginia.

Outline

This course is provided in a series of four self-paced modules. Each module contains a video presentation and a required quiz at the end to test your knowledge of the presented material. A score of at least 80% (answer 4 out of 5 questions correct) is required to successfully complete a module.

How to Sign In

After registering for a course, you will receive several emails.  The first 3 emails you will receive are from vceprograms@vt.edu.  These emails include a Password Setup email, a Course Registration Confirmation email, and a Payment Receipt email.  If you paid by credit card, you will also receive a credit card receipt from bursar@mail.bursar.vt.edu.

Next, you will receive an email from Virginia Tech Guest Management Service (iam@vt.edu) with the subject line Virginia Tech Guest Account Invitation. It is important that you watch for this email as it has a temporary link for you to activate your VT guest account and set your password. You must active your account within 7 days of receiving the email or the invitation will expire.

Within 6 hours of activating your VT guest account, you will receive an email from Virginia Tech Canvas (notifications@instructure.com) with the subject line Course Enrollment. This email indicates you can now sign in to Canvas and begin the course.

Log in to Canvas at https://profdev-lms.tlos.vt.edu. Your username is the email address you used to register for the course. The password is the one you set when creating the Virginia Tech guest account.

To reset your VT Guest account password, visit the Guest Account Management Service - Password Reset page at https://webapps.es.vt.edu/gams/reset.do. Enter the email address you used to register for the course.
