Description

What’s In Your Water?

Do you know what’s in your drinking water? While public water supplies are tested daily for contaminants, most private water supplies, like wells and springs, are rarely tested. It is recommended that well owners test their water at least annually for bacteria and nitrates. Learn more about the quality of your water and how to care for your water system at our Fairfax County Drinking Water Clinic.

How does it work?

  1. Pick up your sample kit at a designated location with physical distancing measures. View a virtual orientation meeting via Zoom.
  2. Collect samples on designated date and drop off sample and questionnaire locally (please remember to remove the questionnaire from the bag).  Physical distancing measures will be in place and masks are required.
  3. Samples are analyzed at Virginia Tech.  Receive your confidential results, an explanation of what they mean, and information about addressing any problems via mail.  A live virtual Zoom meeting will also be used to answer any questions and help you understand your results.

Please see detailed schedule information in the Outline section below.
