Description
The Virginia Tech Turfgrass Science Team has developed seven training resources in English and Spanish to address the educational needs of the introductory workforce in turfgrass management-areas of the green industry. These seven training areas are accompanied by a post-training quiz to assess the student’s knowledge of the subject material, and upon successful completion of all post-training quizzes, the student has the opportunity to sit for the Turfgrass Technician Certificate.
All training materials are hosted in Canvas and the program is available as virtual self-study by individuals working on their own schedules, or it can easily be administered by crew leaders etc. in a group setting for any type of turfgrass setting (lawn and landscape care, golf turf, or sports field management).
The content was developed by the VT Turfgrass Science Team and the Spanish recordings and written materials were developed by Spanish-speaking turfgrass industry professionals.
